🧰 Tutorial for installing Diagbox 9.85 natively (Windows 7, 8, 10, 11)

This guide explains how to install Diagbox 9.85 directly on your Windows system , without a virtual machine (native installation).

⚙️ Prerequisites before installation

Before you begin, make sure to:

• Having downloaded the archive: Diagbox_9.85_noVM.zip .

• You must have the installation password (provided in the folder).

• Temporarily disable your antivirus and Windows Defender.

• Perform all steps as administrator .

🗂️ Step 1 – Unzip the archive

1. Locate the downloaded file:
   Diagbox_9.85_noVM.zip

2. Right-click → Extract here , or use WinRAR / 7-Zip to decompress.

3. A folder will be created containing the installation file:
   DiagBox9.85.exe

🧱 Step 2 – Creating and excluding the AWRoot folder

1. Create a folder named C:\AWRoot

2. Add this folder to the exclusions of your antivirus and Windows Defender to avoid any blocking during installation.

➕ Exclude AWRoot in Windows Defender

1. Open:
   Windows Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security

2. Click on Virus and threat protection

3. Scroll down to Virus & threat protection settings , then click Manage settings

4. At the bottom, click on Add or remove exclusions

5. Select Add an exclusion → Folder

6. Select the C:\AWRoot folder and confirm.

1. Open your antivirus software.

2. Look for the Exclusions / Exceptions / Exclude a folder option.

3. Add the path C:\AWRoot and confirm.

💿 Step 3 – Installing Diagbox 9.85 software

1. Open DiagBox9.85.exe (right-click → Run as administrator )

2. Enter the installation password

3. Let the installation run until the end

⚙️ Step 6 – Initial DiagBox configuration (language)

1. Launch DiagBox

2. On first launch, the application opens in Chinese

Language change

• Decline the update search by clicking No

• Click on the icon in the top left corner of the main screen

• Next, click on the Settings / Configuration icon

• Select the third line (language change)

• Choose French

• Close and then restart DiagBox

🔄 Step 7 – Automatic probe update (if offered)

• If an automatic probe update is displayed, let it complete.

• Do not disconnect the interface during this step

✅ Step 8 – Final Check

1. Connect the probe to the vehicle and the PC

2. Launch Diagbox 9.85 from the desktop shortcut

3. Check that:

   • The probe is detected

   • The PSA home screen is displayed

   • Communication with the vehicle is working
