⚠️ Do not click on I Copied It (risk of license and hardware ID issues).
The Windows 7 32-bit virtual machine then starts automatically.
🔹 STEP 7 – Connecting the CAN CLIP probe to the virtual machine
⚠️ Crucial point : the probe must be connected to the virtual machine , and not to the host PC .
Prerequisites
Before this step, connect the CAN CLIP probe's OBD2 cable to the vehicle's OBD2 port so that the probe is powered by 12V .
Without this power supply, the CAN CLIP probe will not be visible in the menu:
Player → Removable Devices
Probe connection
-
Connect the CAN CLIP probe to the PC via USB.
-
In the VMware menu bar, click on:
Player → Removable Devices -
Select the CAN CLIP probe
-
Click on:
Connect (Disconnect from Host)
Expected state
✅ The probe is now visible and usable in Windows 7 (virtual machine)
❌ It should no longer appear as active on the host PC
🔹 STEP 8 – Using CAN CLIP
-
CAN CLIP V192 is already installed and configured in the virtual machine.
-
Launch CAN CLIP from the Windows 7 desktop
-
You can perform the vehicle diagnostics.
⚠️ IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
-
Always launch CAN CLIP from the virtual machine
-
Always connect the probe to the VM and not to the host.
-
Never update Windows 7 in the VM
-
Do not change the VM's hardware settings without reason.
