Installation and activation tutorial
Renault CAN CLIP V192
This guide describes step by step the correct procedure to install and activate Renault CAN CLIP V192 .
Strict adherence to each step is essential to avoid errors in installation, activation or recognition of the probe.
✅ MANDATORY PREREQUISITES
Before you begin, be sure to check the following points:

Operating system : Windows 7 – 32-bit only

Administrator rights on the Windows session
-
Antivirus temporarily disabled (during the entire installation process)

WinRAR is required for all extractions.
-
❌ Never launch CAN CLIP before the activation process is complete.
⚠️ Any attempt to install on another system (Windows 10/11, 64-bit, poorly configured VM) will result in malfunction.
📥 STEP 1 – Downloading and preparing the files
1. Downloading the software
Download the following archive:
Can Clip V192_0_2_0.rar
2. Software extraction

Right-click → Extract with WinRAR
-
Extract the contents to a standard folder on your computer.
(examples: Office or Documents)
3. Activation Download
Then download the archive:
CAN CLIP Activation and Patch (-V212).zip
4. Activation Extraction
-
Extract using WinRAR only
-
Do not change the folder structure
⚠️ Important points
-
Do not launch any files until all archives are fully extracted.
-
Never use the Windows extractor
-
Keep the two extracted folders accessible for later use.

🔧 STEP 2 – Installing the CAN CLIP software
-
Open the extracted CAN CLIP V192 folder
-
Before any installation , run:
01. Renault CLIP.reg→ Accept the addition to the registry

-
Next, launch the installation via the setup.
-
Accept the driver installation when prompted.
-
The computer will restart.
⚠️ At the end of the installation:
❌ DO NOT LAUNCH CAN CLIP


🔐 STEP 3 – Software Activation
⚠️ This step is critical. Follow the order exactly.

Go to the folder:
C:\CLIP_X91\Lib\Application\ -
Launch the RSRWin.exe file (original version)
-
Click on "Register me now"
-
To the next question, choose "NO"
-
Carefully note the serial number displayed.



Key generation
-
Launch one of the following tools (KEYGEN folder):
-
Renault CLIP TOOL
-
or Renault Can Clip Registration
-
-
Generate the key from the serial number
-
Enter the key in RSRWin.exe
-
Confirm
✅ Activation successfully completed



🔌 STEP 4 – Probe recognition patch (RTL2002)
To ensure correct recognition of the RTL2002 probe:
-
Go to the folder:
C:\CLIP\Config\ -
Replace the following files:
-
probesConfiguration.xml -
probesConfiguration_logs.xml
-
-
By those provided in folder 03 of the activation archive
⚠️ Ensure that CAN CLIP is completely closed during this operation.

🚗 Access for vehicles manufactured before 2005
To allow access to older vehicles:
-
Copy the file:
IsoDrv.dllfrom file 03
-
Paste it into:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SAGEM SA\
🔹 Connecting the CAN CLIP probe
Before the opening of CAN CLIP
-
Connect the CAN CLIP probe's OBD2 cable to the vehicle's OBD port.
-
Turn the vehicle's ignition on ( ON position, engine not started)
👉 The CAN CLIP probe must be powered by 12V .
Without vehicle power, the probe will not be detected by CAN CLIP.

Next, connect the CAN CLIP probe to the PC via USB.
Checking proper operation
-
The two red LEDs on the probe should light up
-
When CAN CLIP is launched, the 2 green LEDs also light up
You can confirm that the probe has been correctly detected in the Windows Device Manager :

Two devices should appear:
-
Bosch Automotive – RTL2002 CAN Communication Interface (After re-enumeration)
-
Bosch Automotive – RTL2002 ISO Communication Interface (After re-enumeration)
-
👉 If these two lines are present, the probe is correctly recognized.

Software launch
You can now launch CAN CLIP normally.
✅ INSTALLATION COMPLETE
Renault CAN CLIP V192 is ready to be used.
In case of a problem
-
Verify that the system used is indeed Windows 7 – 32-bit
-
Check that the antivirus has not deleted any necessary files.
-
Check that CAN CLIP was not launched before activation.
